It is Harry's second year at Hogwarts. Harry A few days after school starts Quidditch practices start and Draco Malfoy is the new seeker on the Slytherin team. Harry starts hearing voices, that only he can hear. He also sees a petrified cat and blood on the wall. During a Quidditch game Harry is knocked of his broom and when he wakes up he finds he can speak to snakes. This is confusing as only Slytherin's can talk to snakes. They brew up a potion to find a way to go to Slytherin and they drink it and find information about Draco Malfory.
Things run smoothly for a while until Harry finds Tom Riddle's diary. Tom Riddle is the boy who fixed the chamber last time... or did he?..... When he and Ron go down to see Hagrid, they find Hagrid and Dumbledore being sent away.
Harry and Ron find out more about a basilisk, a snake like creature. And while others are being petrified they learn that Ginny has been taken into the Chamber. They search for a way to rescue Ginny and find out why people are being petrified.
